Dr. Sharin Shajahan Naomi is an Assistant professor of Gender Studies at Asian University for Women in Dhaka where she served as the head of core program until September, 2022.

Naomi gives talks on women’s rights in national and international platforms. She has publications and research experience in a number of areas including disability, violence against women, women empowerment, feminism, anti-feminist backlash, indigenous rights, human rights and humanitarian law, refugee rights, peace and conflict resolution, post-colonial knowledge and environmental justice. She completed PhD from Murdoch University, Australia. She was awarded Australian Leadership Award 2010 for pursuing Masters of Arts in Human Rights at Curtin University. In 2019, she received DHS fellowship  and Cornel Climate Online Fellowship.
