Oum-Action

Empowerment program developed by and for mothers

Oum-Action is an innovative educational and capacity-building program designed by mothers and for mothers. Its goal is to strengthen their role in in promoting nonviolence, preventing conflict, and fostering inclusive economic, social, and political development within their families and communities.

Oum-Action recognizes mothers as powerful forces of resilience and social cohesion, who shape values and guide the next generation.

Knowledge and confidence in practice

Through structured and participatory learning, mothers are equipped with practical knowledge and strategies to better understand and respond to the complex challenges facing adolescents, families, and communities affected by tension, marginalization, or violence.

In this stage, mother beneficiaries learn how to:

  • Organize themselves
  • Deconstruct elements of conflict as a means of preventing violence
  • Lead their children on how to come to terms in a more standardized way with those who held the dissimilarities
  • Actively engage in working with their children in restructuring a more equitable and peaceful relationship without the use of violence.
