Mr. Weifane Ibrahim



Mr. Weifane Ibrahim is NCCT's Regional Director for Sahel and West Africa. He is a senior development and peacebuilding practitioner with over 23 years of experience across the Sahel and West Africa, spanning development, humanitarian action, advocacy, and emergency programming. He has worked at the intersection of policy, peacebuilding, and civic engagement, including serving as Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Niger until October 2021, where he contributed to national-level policy processes related to governance, social cohesion, and development.

He has led and supported initiatives focused on peacebuilding, governance, citizen engagement, and access to essential services in fragile and conflict-affected contexts, working closely with community-based organizations, civil society actors, and public institutions. Previously, he served as West Africa Regional Advocacy Coordinator for Essential Services, based in Dakar, overseeing civic engagement initiatives across the Sahel and strengthening partnerships with local, national, and regional authorities.

Mr. Weifane has collaborated with leading international organizations including Plan International, Oxfam International, Counterpart/DAI, IREX, and as a consultant for Education Cannot Wait (ECW) in support of partners such as UNICEF, Save the Children, NRC, and World Vision. He currently serves as Executive Secretary of the Issoufou Mahamadou Foundation, working on democracy, peace, human capital development, and climate-related challenges.

He holds a Master's degree in Project Management and is currently pursuing a PhD in Social Sciences at Atlantic International University.
