AUW Peace Café, in collaboration with the Center for Peace and Justice at BRAC University, The Nordic Center for Conflict Transformation, and OSA of AUW, undertook the initiative of conducting a”Panel Discussion On Peace Prospects: Navigating the Israel-Palestinian Conflict.” Being part of a global citizen we found it really important to bring this discussion on this current hot topic.
For this comprehensive and intellectually stimulating discussion, we had the privilege of hosting a distinguished panel of experts. Professor Dr. Standford Howdyshell, a venerable and erudite figure, admirably fulfilled the role of our moderator. Our esteemed panelists included Ms. Haneen Ayoub, the accomplished Co-founder and Clinical Psychologist at The Psychology Clinic- Palestine; Dr. David Taylor, the esteemed Interim Pro Vice-Chancellor of AUW; Dr. Richard Sherman, a highly regarded Associate Professor in the fields of international relations and political science; and Mr. Noufal Abboud, the distinguished Executive Director and Co-founder of the Nordic Center for Conflict Transformation. We had the honor of being virtually connected with Ms. Haneen and Mr. Noufal throughout the event. Each panelist, owing to their profound expertise, provided their insight on this complex and ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine in Gaza from their unique and academically fortified perspectives.
In addition to our diverse students, we were privileged to have the distinguished presence of Dean Beena Khurana and other elite professors and fellows from our university during the session. Students from various countries, representing diverse academic levels attended with active and engaging participation in the discourse.
We firmly believe that through this event, we have successfully fostered awareness and understanding within the AUW community regarding this conflict. The profound insights offered by our esteemed panelists, coupled with the enthusiastic interest of our students, have made the event conclude on a successful note.
